On the Farm

This is one of the latest layouts that I have done. It was a pretty quick one to put together. I have had the Doodlebug farm things for a while now and have been really wanting to use them. I was looking through some photos from last year and found this sweet one of the calf drinking from its mother. I knew I had to use it! It was just too cute!  Only after I took the photo of my lo I realised I forget to add the journalling to the journalling spot:)

Im busy working on my Christmas project at the moment. Christmas is my favourite time of the year! I love everything about it:) I will be teaching my class on Sat the 1st of Dec so I will post pics of my project after that:)

Have a fabulous weekend:)

New Layouts:)

Ok so I'm finally back again. I just never seem to get the hang of this whole talking about myself thing. I really want to try out fr some more design teams but I know that alot of them require you to keep a blog, and keep it updated pretty regularly, so I'm really gonn try harder from now on.

So the only scrapping I have been doing lately has been for the DT for Lets Scrap. I am going through quite a lot of things at the moment and i'm just not feeling inspired. I hate feeling like this. I hate not wanting to do anything. But I know I will get through it and hopefully make the right decisions:)

Because of this, I only have a few lo's to show you today. Even though there are only a few, I hope you will like them:)

THis is the first sketch for my first week on a DT ever! And then there's my lo:)

This is the second sketch and lo for you:)

Heres the third one

And the latest one

Well I think that is enough pictures for now:)
Have a fabulous day

First card sketch

So over at Lets Scrap, I had my first card sketch challenge. Now I have never been a car maker. I never know where to start. I always have very good intentions of using all my left overs and making cards with them. But I never do them. It was quite daunting for me as the other ladies in the DT r pro's. But I did it.  I used some scraps I found lying around and I think it came together pretty well. Im sure that the more I make, I will get better at it:)

So first up is the sketch:
And here is my take on it:

Anyways, better be off:)

Woman's Day Celebrations!

So last week, on Thursday the 9th of August we celebrated Woman's day here in SA. For the last couple of months we have been planning to have a day of scrapping at the shop. We had so many ideas of what to do with the ladies, but in the end we settled on making a printers tray.

After some research I came across one that could be cut on the Cameo. We weren't sure if the ladies would be up for the challenge and after lots of debating we took the plunge and started designing it.

I ordered some stunning goodies for everyone, and there was such such a big selection in each kit that no two projects were the same. We used the Studio Calico, Take Note range of paper. All the ladies got a whole 6x6 pack so they such a variety to choose from. A few other things included in the kit were, Kaiser alphas, prima flowers, craft essentials mirror butterflies, celeb8 chipboard swirls and butterflies, rub ons, twine, glitter buttons, chipboard frames and many many more things.

Here is a pic of my printers tray that I did. I hope u like it:)
After I had made my tray I realised there was soooo much stuff left over so I decided to do a single page as well.
Even after both projects there was a mountain of goodies left over.
We had 19 ladies in Thursdays class and then we didit again on Sat with seven ladies. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and couldnt believe that they actually made their printers trays from scratch! Everyone did such fantastic jobs with their projects, I cant wait to see them all finished:)
Next week i'll hopefully put up some of the ladies printers tray so u can see how beautiful they came out.

Thats all for now, gotta get ready, we have a class in half an hour:)

Fantastic News!

I got chosen to be on a design team! I am super excited! I have never ever entered anything like this before, but when I saw this challenge come up I thought lets take a chance and go for it. I'm so glad that I did! I was chosen for http://letsscrap.ning.com/ design team.

We were given a sketch to follow, and I chose to scrap some more of my Paris photos.
This is the sketch

And this is my take on it. I hope you like it:)

I used my fav cardstock colour for the background - kraft. Some old MME patterns, Kaiser journalling tags, stickers and rub ons. I made the bunting by punching circles from patterns and folding them in half. It was quite a simple layout, but I had fun doing it:)

I have already done my next layout which has to be in by the end of the month, but you will have  to want for that one:)

On another note, we are having a Woman's day function here on Thursday the 9th of August and again on Saturday the 11th. We're super excited about it. We are doing a fantastic project which such lovely goodies. Hopefully next week I will post pics for you all to see:)

Have a wonderful week, and for those of you in SA, enjoy your extra long weekend:)

Travel time...

So at the end of last year my friend Cassandra (yes we have the same name:)) and I went on a Euro tour. It was most probably one of the best experiences of my life! We had sooooo much fun. We started of in London, then off to France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Holland and finally Belgium. We met the most amazing peeps on our trip, had some amazing experiences *wink wink* :) took hundres of photos, drank plenty 'european alcoholic beverages':) ate great food, played games, too much to actually mention in this post. So slowly but surely I've been scrapping some of my many many photos from this trip. I'm sure that by the end of it I will have more than one whole album but its so exciting:)
Here are two layouts that I have done, I will post more when I take some more pics:)
First up is 'Enjoy the journey,' which i did with the stunning butterfly paper that we got in the shop. They are some photos of me in London town:) It was just a fun, light hearted layout that I really enjoyed doing.
'Isla di Burano.' is one of my favourite layouts that I've done so far. The photos are from the island of Burano, in Venice, Italy. Italy was my FAVOURITE place! I loved every, single minute of being there! We got this stunning range from Basic Grey, Whats up, and it matched perfectly with my photos! I loved cutting all the hot air balloons and housed out. I just added a bit of stickles, some ribbon and a matching flair button and I was done! Quite a simple layout, but I love it:)

Hopefully next week I will have more to show you:)

Keep calm and...bake cupcakes?

So for my first 'new' post I thought I would share the link to the scrapbooking competition that I was chosen for. Its kinda weird coz theres no one 'winner,' just a few people who are chosen at a time. But anywhoo i'm grateful to have been chosen as I have entered a few scrapping competitions in the past but have never come anywhere.
Hopefully this will be the start of many new great things:)
The theme for the competition was the "keep calm" posters. Of course I chose to 'bake cupcakes' for my layout:) It was kinda a difficult page for me to scrap as I have so many pink, purple and super glittery cupcake things, but they didnt match my photos. And yes I did bake those cupcakes:)
I quite like how the layout came out, I tried to keep it quite similar to the posters and it was a different style for me to scrap.
Here is my layout:)
And here is the link to the competition blog:) http://scrapafrica.blogspot.com/
Have fun and see you soon:)

Long time, no see...

Wow! Am I bad at posting or what???
Seriously its been almost a whole year!
I just dont seem to have the whole "i'm so cool so i must brag about myself all over the place," kinda attitude.
My mom says I mustnt think about it like that.
She says using my blog wil be great for the shop.
I know she's right, but I just find it so difficult to write about myself.
So my new goal is to actually actively use my blog.
For positive things.
And scrapbook things...
And all things crafty...
oh and of course food...oh how I love food:)
And generally all the things i love:)
Ok love y'all and see u soon:)
